Ray Shoemaker is a professional who works in the healthcare industry and feels that discipline and hard work can solve virtually any problem in the business world. Shoemaker was not always a professional, of course, he was once enrolled in the United States Army, which helped to shape his character considerably. In the U.S. Army, Ray Shoemaker reached the rank of Captain before being honorably discharged. He will, to this day, swear that his success in the healthcare industry is owed to the leadership skills that he acquired while in the armed forces.
After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, Ray Shoemaker took a job at the Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville, Mississippi, which is a fairly rural area. He was give his first opportunity at making a career for himself in this position, as he was put in charge of the behavioral health services unit. He later became the COO, and then CEO, of the hospital thanks to his early leadership in the behavioral health services unit.
